NOTE: Motor shown in product photos is for illustration only - NOT included. Available for purchase separately. You will also need a contactless tachometer (not included) - available on Amazon.
SCC RPM Disc Set for 1.5mm and 2.0mm Motor Shafts. Made from aluminum. One disc is for motors with a 1.5mm diameter motor shaft (e.g. FF-050 slim can). The second disc is for motors with 2.0mm diameter motor shaft (e.g. FC-130, FK-180). The RPM discs are easy-to-use and make it easy to obtain consistent, accurate results when measuring motor RPM.
Instructions
** WARNING ** - Wear safety glasses when measuring motor RPM.
1) For new motors, connect the motor to a variable power supply (not included) and run at 3V for at least 15-20 minutes. This will help seat the motor brushes on the commutator before testing RPM's.
2) CAREFULLY insert the RPM disc onto the motor shaft. The small hub with the set screw should be facing toward the motor (i.e. the flat face of the disc should be facing away from the motor - see accompanying product photo).

3) CAREFULLY tighten the set screw until you feel it contact the motor shaft - it just needs to be "snug". DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or you will strip the threads in the aluminum hub.
4) Position and secure the motor so the black line on the smooth surface of the RPM disc can be "seen" by your contactless tachometer (not included). Connect your motor to a variable power source (not included).
5) Adjust variable power source to desired voltage and use contactless tachometer to measure RPM.
6) Remove the disc from the motor shaft by loosening the set screw.
