This ubiquitous van from the 1960's Protest and Peace Movement was a favorite of those who "dropped out" and enjoyed the California beach scene. Beach parties, surfing and hanging out made being young "cool" while "squares" (parents) lamented their wayward children. Some occasional seriousness burst through as many spoke of peace and anti-commercialism.
